whatever
Finally being obedient in sharing what God placed in my heart several years ago. I want to share HIM with you through all the whatever’s of my life. I hope you will see it is GRACE not perfection that should guide us. I want to be real with you so you can see the TRUTH. Life in Christ is not an easy life and it’s not about how good or how bad you think you are. It is about what God did for us through his son, JESUS, the cross is the game changer. When I was in 1st grade I had a 3 ring binder that had a picture of Holly Hobby and a quote that said “Please be patient with me God is not finished with me yet”. Funny thing is I thought one day He would be. No one taught me that, I just had this concept in my head if I was good enough one day all the right things would fall into place. I wanted to be a wife and mother since I was a little girl. I was a wife for 26 years and a mother of an amazing son. The life that I have lived is not what I thought it would be, but I choose to TRUST HIM. He has forgiven me much and I’m grateful for HIS GRACE & MERCY! My Grancy, my grandmother on my Daddy’s side, couldn’t hear very well and she would say “whatever” a lot and giggle. The truth is she had a hard life by the world’s standards but she lived a “whatever lifestyle”. I never once heard her complain and she loved Jesus with all her heart. One of her favorite verses was Psalm 19:14. “May the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and Redeemer.” The truth is life is really ugly sometimes and we all walk through difficult WHATEVER’S. She was a Godly example of how to handle the whatever’s. I want to encourage you to walk through those times and know you are not alone. HE is with you and I pray you have a Salty Sister walking with you as well. We need the blessing of authentic friendships. A Salty Sister will remind you like my Grancy that Philippians 4:8 says “…whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” There is a battle in all the whatever’s for our heart and mind. A Salty Sister will be honest with you and listen, let you vent and let you cry. Not judge you, but lead you back to TRUTH. We need to live to reflect the LOVE of Christ because we ARE the SALT of the earth. Others need to see Him in how we handle the whatever’s. Unless we get real and raw our stories will just be our stories. When we get honest about them and share, in a God appointed time, the Holy Spirt will use our story for an anchor point for someone else. An anchor point for a Salty Sister is when it becomes not just her past but HISTORY, read that clearly…HIS STORY! He changes lives and when we are willing to share what He has done, He takes the whatever and gives another some TRUTH to hold on too. Our relationship with Jesus is our anchor. Not everyone needs to know all the details but we need those 2 0r 3 Salty Sisters we can be completely authentic with. I have been blessed by mine! I’ll be sharing some of my whatever’s and offering scripture TRUTH’S which helped me and other resources to help on specific topics through this blog. If you want a taste of the whatever’s I’ve seen God use in my life here are just a few infertility, miscarriage, adoption, pornography/sexual addiction, infidelity, divorce…yep he can use it all…Be Salty in all the WHATEVER’S!
